- Flying Disc Parasport Wheelchair Ultimate (Book 1)Publication . Amoroso, José PedroWe at WFDF are honored to introduce to the eBook “Flying Disc Parasport Wheelchair Ultimate - BOOK 1” written by José Amoroso, which is being introduced as an important resource to promote the adaptive disciplines in our sport to our global audience of more than 100 National Federations. Initial discussions on the topic of the introduction of Wheelchair Ultimate as a Flying Disc sport under the WFDF umbrella emerged during the 2013 WFDF Congress and it was broadly agreed that WFDF should support the development of Wheelchair Ultimate competitions globally. The WFDF Board of Directors approved moving ahead, adding the disabled sport section of the Flying Disc sports Ultimate (Wheelchair) and Disc Golf to the event portfolio. WFDF had obtained positive reactions from major WFDF member countries such as Australia, Belgium, Canada, Chinese Taipei, France, Germany, Great Britain, Hong Kong China, Hungary, Ireland, Japan, Portugal, South Africa, Switzerland, and USA, when checking on Parasports activities and interest to develop national adaptive programs. In the following period in 2014/15 after the recognition granted by the IPC in October 2014, WFDF collected further contacts from Wheelchair Ultimate groups and worked with them on gaining practical expertise on how Wheelchair Ultimate should be structured as a sport. The Action Plan based on this valuable input created for two-year periods starting in 2014 has resulted in improvements on the outreach program, the discussion with the fellow IFs like IWBF Wheelchair Basketball, IWRF Wheelchair Rugby, and IWAS Wheelchair Fencing to learn on the operations of crucial competition rules, classification and accessibility check of venues. The participation of WFDF in the IPC Observer Programme at the Rio 2016 and Pyeongchang 2018 Paralympic Games were milestones in the understanding of requirements of adapted sports on highest competition level. The present ebook is the next step in our process and establishes the first set of competition rules including the guidelines on venue layouts for Wheelchair Ultimate. And will greatly contribute to staging continental competitions in Wheelchair Ultimate in Europe, America, Asia/Oceania within the next working period. This will eventually lead to World Championships in the next 2-3 years. We thank our partners at the International Paralympic Committee (IPC), International Wheelchair and Amputee Sport Federation (IWAS), and our scientific partners for their contribution. - Manual Ultimate e Desportos de Disco nas EscolasPublication . Amoroso, José PedroDepois de 18 anos o “meu” filho mais velho cresceu, aprendeu, amadureceu, sofreu de dores de crescimento e resolveu sair de casa… Existe um misto de emoções, pois como qualquer Pai, não existe muita vontade de ver o seu filho partir… por outro lado, sei e acredito no seu valor, nas suas qualidades e no bem que poderá fazer à nossa sociedade e ao desporto em geral. Espero que continue a crescer de uma forma equilibrada e sustentada como fez até aqui. Cabe a agora à sociedade interpretar o seu potencial, mais concretamente os meus colegas de profissão, para que o recebam e que lhe deem o melhor rumo possível. Sempre que se sintam com dúvidas ou com sugestões, poderão sempre contactar o seu “Pai” para em conjunto podermos dar um futuro melhor. O COI (Comité Olímpico Internacional) reconheceu a modalidade a 2 de Agosto de 2016 em Lausanne. Com mais esta vitória , o Ultimate promete continuar a crescer e a evoluir. Com a ajuda do Desporto Escolar, estamos certos que a modalidade ganhará outra visibilidade, e que as gerações mais jovens poderão ter acesso a um desporto coletivo evasivo, carregado de Fair play, valores, conhecimento, respeito e principalmente divertimento, efetuado sempre de forma amigável e fraterna. Para que este espírito exista e permaneça entre todos os jogadores, o Ultimate possui algumas ferramentas que são diferentes de alguns desportos coletivos. O SOTG – Spirit of the Game será possivelmente uma das ferramentas “mais úteis” do Ultimate. A pontuação atribuída a cada equipa pelo espírito demonstrado ao longo dos jogo, proporciona um prémio à que tiver maior pontuação nos finais dos campeonatos. Este prémio tem sempre uma dimensão superior ao atribuído à equipa que fica classificada na primeira posição. O fundamental mesmo é competir, sim, mas dentro das regras e sem conflitos. O Ultimate Internacionalmente tem mostrado ao mundo a sua força, como foi o exemplo do jogo realizado entre crianças Palestinianas e Israelitas, onde o divertimento e o prazer de jogar ficaram acima de qualquer problema político. O Ultimate… é isto e muito mais!

- Ultimate at Schools Programme, Teacher's FilePublication . Amoroso, José PedroI have been involved in Ultimate and frisbee sports for 20 years. I have lots to tell, lots of stories, I’ve come up against several obstacles and setbacks. However, my passion for the sport and, in particular, for what Ultimate represents in all its different fields of knowledge, has helped me remain focused on a well-defined objective. #frisbeelifestyle is now here to stay. One of the aims of this Programme for PE Teachers is, without a doubt, to provide the tools so that every professional can understand and prepare their lessons/activities using the disc, where the SOTG – Spirit of the Game is clearly presented and reinforced so that teachers can understand how and in what manner they can put it into practice. I soon realised how important disc games are in children’s multilateral, eclectic and well-balanced development. Pedagogically comprehensive, including in terms of affections and emotions, of motor control, and including a number of features that make these games unique in teaching and in developing soft skills for life. The first training course at a school in Portugal took place in 2003, and since then there have been contacts with several hundreds of schools throughout the country and several training sessions aimed at Physical Education teachers. In 2020, we will be part of the national physical education curriculum and we aim to reach each and every school in Portugal and the Portuguese archipelagos. Each country has their own laws in terms of Education and Sports, and it is not my place to assess them or refer better teaching models or methods. We have created this programme with the aim of reaching each and every teacher and anyone who is passionate about sports. The programme is easy to read and perfectly adaptable to the curriculum in other countries. We would like to make this tool, Ultimate and disc sports accessible to everyone, and the place to start is at schools! It is now up to each professional to use the disc to develop teaching strategies according to their subject, so that we may make an impact and create a sound teaching mechanism in the medium and long run! I take this opportunity to thank the municipality of Leiria, the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria, the IPDJ, Sports School and Leiria Flying Objects, for all their support over the years.
