Abstract(s)
O estudo, de carater Qualitativo, analisa dinâmicas e recursos usados por espaços culturais junto
de adultos com dificuldades intelectuais e desenvolvimentais, a partir das práticas atualmente
recomendadas e tendo em conta a perspetiva das próprias pessoas com esta condição. Inclui a observação
de visitas virtuais ao Museu Nacional de Machado de Castro e ao Convento São Francisco e entrevistas
semiestruturadas a dezoito participantes que frequentam três Centros de Atividades Ocupacionais
da Associação Portuguesa de Pais e Amigos do Cidadão Deficiente Mental de Coimbra (Portugal). Os
resultados indicam que as pessoas com dificuldades intelectuais e desenvolvimentais usufruem destas
experiências quando são aplicadas respostas que atendam aos seus perfis, destacando-se a importância
de um trabalho de parceria entre os espaços culturais e as instituições de apoio, na procura de soluções
conjuntas que permitam uma fruição plena por parte destas pessoas. Esta colaboração deve ter início
numa fase prévia à realização das visitas, para partilha de informação sobre os objetos culturais e os
perfis dos visitantes e criação de soluções que permitam às pessoas com deficiência uma fruição de
qualidade, em igualdade de oportunidades com a população em geral.
The qualitative study analyzes dynamics and resources used by cultural spaces with adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, based on currently recommended practices and taking into account the perspective of people with this condition. It includes the observation of virtual visits to the National Museum of Machado de Castro and the São Francisco Convent and semi-structured interviews with eighteen participants who attend three Occupational Activity Centers of the Portuguese Association of Parents and Friends of the Mentally Handicapped Citizen of Coimbra (Portugal). The results indicate that people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities enjoy these experiences with quality when answers that meet their profiles are applied, highlighting the importance of a partnership between cultural spaces and support institutions, in the search for answers joint ventures that allow these people to fully enjoy it. This collaboration should begin at a stage prior to the visits, to share information on cultural objects and visitor profiles and to create solutions that allow people with disabilities a quality enjoyment, on an equal basis with the population in general.
