Abstract(s)
últimos anos pelas autoridades mundiais do sector.
Tourism is an ancient activity that initially originated from the need for people to move for commercial purposes and later for leisure purposes. Over time, technological developments, improvements in working and social conditions have allowed people to have mass access to tourism, and this industry has become a global industry. The tourism sector, except in some moments of world crises, in general has been growing at a national, regional and global level, becoming of vital importance for the economy for countries and the world. This importance can be seen in the influence it has on Gross Domestic Products and at a social level by the people it employs. In Portugal, the tourism sector has been growing in all indicators: contribution to gross domestic product; demand; diversified and quality offer; jobs and businesses in the sector; improvements to road, port and air infrastructure. The acceptance and recognition of the quality of the tourism sector in Portugal is evidenced by the attribution of world awards in recent years by the world authorities of the sector. With these conditions in the tourism sector, with society's growing awareness of environmental and sustainability issues, it seems opportune and viable for my project to recycle maritime containers, transforming them into tourist accommodation using as much recyclable products as possible and self-sufficient in energy and deployment with minimal impact on the surrounding environment.
