Abstract(s)
The growth of tariffs for the heat supply of the dwelling makes it
necessary to take special care in selecting modern high-performance heatinsulating
materials. Correctly mounted heat insulation system in comparison
with what is done unprofessionally, can allow the owner to reduce heating
costs by 3-4 times. The use of insufficient, ineffective thermal insulation or its
incorrect placement inevitably leads to deterioration in the microclimate of
the premises.
The search and creation of effective heat-insulating materials on the
basis of cheap raw materials continues to be a chalenge. At the same time, the
criterion of saving fuel and energy resources in the production of heatinsulating
materials is of great importance. Depending on the composition of
the substances from which the thermal insulation materials are made, under
certain conditions they can act on the insulated surfaces, the environment, and
the human or animal body.
Increasingly widespread are modern ecologically clean insulation from
vegetable raw materials. Most often, these materials are made from fibers of
flax, hemp or wood, fastened with safe binding components. Natural
insulators are made in the form of mats, plates and rolls, which makes the
material universal in terms of application options.
The purpose of this research work was to determine the possibility of
using sphagnum moss as a heat-insulating aggregate. To accomplish the task,
compositions for heat-insulating boards based on sphagnum moss were
developed. The plates were tested for thermal conductivity. Also, to test the
material for strength at 10% deformation, cubes were made.
