A alergia alimentar destaca-se como uma das doenças crónicas mais prevalentes na infância, afetando cerca de 6-8% das crianças em idade escolar, com tendência crescente. Trata-se de uma condição sem cura definitiva, cuja gestão assenta na evicção do alergénio, reconhecimento precoce de reações e resposta adequada a situações agudas. Neste contexto, a capacitação parental assume um papel central, sendo fundamental compreender o contributo do Enfermeiro Especialista em Enfermagem de Saúde Familiar na gestão da alergia alimentar.
Foi realizada uma revisão integrativa da literatura, com recurso às bases de dados MEDLINE, CINAHL e Nursing & Allied Health Collection, tendo sido selecionados cinco estudos segundo critérios PRISMA.
Os resultados evidenciam que a gestão da alergia alimentar na infância representa um desafio multidimensional, com impacto físico, emocional e social. Destacam-se o medo e a ansiedade parental, com repercussões nos padrões alimentares bem como o impacto psicossocial na criança e família.
Conclui-se que o Enfermeiro especialista enfermagem de saúde familiar assume um papel central na capacitação parental, promovendo intervenções educativas, apoio emocional e articulação com recursos comunitários, embora a evidência disponível em contexto comunitário português ainda seja limitada.
Food alergies stant out as one of the most prevailed illnesses in childhood and affect about 6-8% of children on school age with a growing trend. This is a condition that has no absolute cure, and management relies on the withdrawal of the allergen, and on the early identification of symptoms and how to react on critical circumstances. In this context, the focus is to train the parents and here is where the Specialist Nurse in Family Health Nursing in the management of food allergies is a fundamental role. A full integrated reassessment of the literature has been made, with resources on MEDLINE, CINAHL e Nursing & Allied Health Collection database, and it has been selected five studies according to PRISMA criteria. The results show that managing a food allergy on childhood is a multidimensional challenge, with a high physical, emotional and social impact. Parental anxiety and fear are what stand out, with repercussions on the feeding patterns as well as psychosocial impact on the child and family. In conclusion, the Specialist Nurse in Family Health Nursing has a central role in parental training, promoting educational interventions, emotional support and articulation with community resources, although the available evidence on a community context is still limited.
