O Aftercare como estratégia de intervenção do assistente social

| dc.description.abstract | O presente trabalho tem como objetivo compreen der a importância do Aftercare para as famílias no pós-tratamen to de pessoas aditas. A adição é considerada uma doença crónica, progressiva, incapacitante e por vezes mortal. A Organização Mun- dial da Saúde (2004) considera pessoas adictas todos/as aqueles/ as que fazem consumos compulsivos de álcool, drogas lícitas ou ilícitas, dependência do jogo, entre outras. O tratamento da adic- ção em comunidade terapêutica requer a existência de uma equipa multidisciplinar, qualificada e comprometida em desenvolver um conjunto de ações articuladas de intervenção direta e indireta com objetivo psicoterapêutico e socio terapêutico para travar o empo- brecimento físico, psicológico e social a que pessoas adictas esti veram sujeitas durante os períodos de consumo. As comunidades terapêuticas são unidades especializadas que prestam cuidados a pessoas adictas em internamento de estadia prolongada. As equi pas que desenvolvem a sua intervenção na comunidade terapêutica são maioritariamente constituídas por psiquiatras, psicólogos, as- sistentes sociais, entre outros. Neste processo o assistente social tem um papel de extrema importância pelo conhecimento sobre a his tória de vida dos pacientes decorrente das intervenções realizadas com o adicto e a família durante o tratamento. Depois do tratamento o paciente e a sua família, deslocam-se à Comunidade Terapêutica para participar no Aftercare, com o objetivo de prevenir a recaída do paciente e aprenderem e debaterem estratégias de atuação para lidar com o adicto em recuperação. A realização do Aftercare é da responsabilidade do assistente social e estrutura-se a partir de uma visão biopsicossocial sobre a adição. Nesse sentido, a dimensão da análise da problemática em questão é conhecer a importância que as famílias atribuem ao Aftercare. Para a realização deste trabalho optou-se pela metodologia qualitativa, recorrendo-se às entrevistas semiestruturadas e o focus group como técnica de recolha de dados e à análise de conteúdo como técnica de análise de dados. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | The present work aims to understand the importance of Aftercare for families in the post-treatment of addicted people. Addiction is considered a chronic, progressive, disabling and sometimes fatal disease. The World Health Organization (2004) considers addicted people to be all those who compulsively consume alcohol, licit or illicit drugs, gambling addiction, among others. The treatment of addiction in a therapeutic community requires the existence of a multidisciplinary team, qualified and committed to developing a set of articulated actions of direct and indirect intervention with a psychotherapeutic and sociotherapeutic objective to stop the physical, psychological and social impoverishment that addicted people have been through. subject during periods of consumption. Therapeutic communities are specialized units that provide care to addicted people in long-term hospitalization. The teams that carry out their intervention in the therapeutic community are mostly made up of psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, among others. In this process, the social worker has an extremely important role in terms of knowledge about the patients’ life history re- sulting from the interventions carried out with the addict and the family during treatment. After treatment, the patient and his family go to the Therapeutic Community to participate in Aftercare, with the aim of preventing the patient’s relapse and learning and discus- sing strategies for dealing with the recovering addict. Carrying out Aftercare is the responsibility of the social worker and is structured from a biopsychosocial view of addiction. In this sense, the dimension of the analysis of the problem in question is to know the importance that families attribute to Aftercare. To carry out this work, a qualitative methodology was chosen, resorting to semi-structured interviews and focus groups as a data collection technique to content analysis as a data analysis technique. | pt_PT |
