O presente Relatório de Estágio emerge no âmbito do Ciclo de Estudos do Curso de Mestrado
em Enfermagem Médico-Cirúrgica na Área de Enfermagem à Pessoa em Situação Crítica da
Escola Superior de Saúde do Instituto Politécnico de Leiria, cujo objetivo visa a obtenção do
grau de Mestre em Enfermagem à Pessoa em Situação Crítica, encontrando-se dividido em duas
partes distintas.
A primeira parte tem como finalidade descrever, através de uma abordagem critico-reflexiva,
como os contributos das aprendizagens e experiências vivenciadas ao longo dos estágios
realizados nos serviços de Urgência, Medicina Intensiva e Diálise, permitiram o
desenvolvimento das competências comuns e específicas do Enfermeiro Especialista em
Enfermagem Médico-Cirúrgica na Área de Enfermagem à Pessoa em Situação Crítica,
capacitando para uma maior autonomia profissional e uma participação ativa no
desenvolvimento organizacional das instituições, respeitando a Pessoa e Família em situação
crítica em todo o processo de cuidados.
Tendo em consideração os avanços da ciência e da tecnologia, a especialização em enfermagem
é imprescindível para garantir uma atualização constante e proativa naquilo que são as melhores
intervenções para o doente, resultando em cuidados diferenciados e altamente qualificados. É
nessa linha de pensamento que surge a segunda parte do relatório. O estudo “Perceção dos
Enfermeiros sobre o seu papel na adesão dos utentes em Hemodiálise à lavagem do Acesso
Vascular como medida de prevenção de complicações”, desenvolvido numa clínica de
Hemodiálise, procura a melhoria dos cuidados e prevenção de complicações em Fístulas
ArterioVenosas e Enxertos ArterioVenosos em doentes com Insuficiência Renal Crónica
Terminal, submetidos a Terapia de Substituição da Função Renal por Hemodiálise.
This Internship Report emerges within the scope of the Study Cycle of the master’s degree in medical-Surgical Nursing in the Area of Nursing for People in Critical Situations of the School of Health of the Polytechnic Institute of Leiria, whose objective is to obtain the degree of master’s in nursing for People in Critical Situations and is divided into two distinct parts. The first part aims to describe, through a critical-reflexive approach, how the contributions of the learning and experiences lived throughout the internships carried out in the Emergency, Intensive Medicine and Dialysis services, allowed the development of common and specific skills of the Specialist Nurse in Medical-Surgical Nursing in the Area of Nursing for People in Critical Situations, enabling greater professional autonomy and active participation in the organizational development of institutions, respecting the Person and Family in critical situations throughout the care process. Considering advances in science and technology, specialization in nursing is essential to ensure constant and proactive updating on what are the best interventions for the patient, resulting in distinguish and highly qualified care. It is in this line of thought that the second part of the report arises. The study “Nurses’ Perception of their Role in Hemodialysis Patients’ Adherence to Vascular Access Washing as a Complication Prevention Measure”, developed in a Hemodialysis clinic, seeks to improve care, and prevent complications in Arteriovenous Fistulas and Arteriovenous Grafts in patients with End-Stage Chronic Renal Failure, undergoing Renal Function Replacement Therapy via Hemodialysis.
