O presente relatório surge no âmbito da unidade curricular, estágio de enfermagem à pessoa em
situação crítica com relatório II, do curso de mestrado em enfermagem médico-cirúrgica na
área de Enfermagem à Pessoa em situação Crítica da Escola Superior de Saúde de Leiria.
Este relatório tem por objetivo refletir, compreender e fundamentar a prática desenvolvida ao
longo dos estágios, no serviço de urgência, na unidade de cuidados intensivos e em emergência
extra-hospitalar, de modo a adquirir as competências do enfermeiro especialista nesta área. Tem
ainda por objetivo promover a aquisição de novo conhecimento e a produção de evidência
científica.
A primeira parte do relatório, a reflexão sobre as competências do enfermeiro especialista nos
estágios, faz uma breve descrição de cada local de estágio. De seguida, são abordadas
individualmente cada uma das competências comuns e específicas do enfermeiro especialista
na área de enfermagem à pessoa em situação crítica, tendo em conta as experiências vivenciadas
em cada local de estágio.
Por fim, a segunda parte, a prática especializada baseada na evidência, encontra-se em formato
de artigo primário que aborda as terapias de substituição renal contínua. Sobretudo o tempo de
vida do filtro e o impacto que o local de inserção do cateter e a estratégia de anticoagulação têm
neste parâmetro.
Em síntese, este relatório evidencia o desenvolvimento das competências do enfermeiro
especialista e reforça a importância da prática baseada na evidência, contribuindo para a
melhoria contínua dos cuidados de enfermagem na área de cuidado à pessoa em situação crítica.
This report has been produced as part of the course module, Nursing Placement for Patients in Critical Condition – Report II, within the Master’s degree programme in Medical-Surgical Nursing, specialising in Critical Care Nursing, at the Leiria School of Health. The aim of this report is to reflect upon, understand and justify the practice developed throughout the various placements, in the Accident and Emergency department, the intensive care unit and in the pré-hospital emergency care, in order to acquire the skills of a specialist nurse in this area. It also aims to promote the acquisition of new knowledge and the production of scientific evidence. The first part of the report, the reflection on the specialist nurse’s competencies during the placements, provides a brief description of each placement site, followed by an individual examination of each of the common and specific competencies of the specialist nurse in the field of nursing care for patients in critical condition, taking into account the experiences gained at each placement site. Finally, the second part, on evidence-based specialist practice, takes the form of a primary article addressing continuous renal replacement therapies. In particular, it examines filter lifespan and the impact that the catheter insertion site and anticoagulation strategy have on this parameter. In summary, this report highlights the development of the specialist nurse's competencies and emphasizes the importance of evidence-based practice, contributing to the continuous improvement of nursing care in critical care.
