This report was developed within the scope of the Master's Degree in Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing at the School of Health of Leiria, as part of the Professional Internship curricular unit. It is structured into three sections: the characterization of specialized practice contexts; a critical-reflective analysis of the activities carried out, in accordance with the common and specific competences of the Specialist Nurse in Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing; and, finally, the description of the research project conducted in a hospital setting. The project focused on anxiety management and the promotion of subjective well-being among nursing professionals in an internal medicine service, through the use of third-generation approaches (mindfulness, acceptance, and commitment). The clinical training took place between April 2024 and January 2025, across diverse learning contexts that enabled the acquisition and consolidation of technical, reflective, and research skills. The interventions were based on scientific evidence and framed within the continuous quality improvement cycle, allowing for the identification of needs, implementation of targeted actions, and evaluation of outcomes among the professionals involved. The findings highlighted the relevance of implementing mental health promotion practices in workplace settings, showing positive effects on emotional regulation, perceived well-being, and anxiety management. In conclusion, the development of competences of the Specialist Nurse in Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing significantly contributes to the improvement of care quality, the enhancement of evidence-based practice, and the strengthening of strategies for mental health promotion among nursing professionals.
