Abstract(s)
There are several scientific studies that show the benefits of physical activity and exercise in clinical populations, such as type 2 diabetes and depression (Knight et al, 2014). Therefore, it becomes relevant to implement programs and strategies that allow intervention in this area to reduce or eliminate the medication that is prescribed in these cases. The objective of this project was the implementation of physical activity consultations in primary health care and the consequent prescription of physical exercise to users, to obtain improvements in their cardiorespiratory fitness and body composition, with 4 consultations being carried out where the respective physical assessments were also carried out and lasted 30/60 minutes. In this project, 24 users were evaluated with the results of the first and third consultations. The following variables were evaluated, BMI, waist circumference, HR after exercise using the YMCA-3min step test and Subjective Perception of Exertion. The results obtained showed significant differences at 3 months in the assessments of cardiorespiratory fitness, respectively the heart rate after exercise (86.38±11.15 bpm) and RPE (4.92±2.19). The results demonstrate that the implementation of this type of projects will bring benefits to improving the clinical condition and health of users, naturally making sense to be implemented in primary health care.
