Este relatório de Estágio no contexto profissional-Parte I- surgiu no âmbito do Curso de
Mestrado de Enfermagem Médico-Cirúrgica na área de especialização à Pessoa em Situação
Crítica, ministrado na Escola Superior de Saúde, do Instituto Politécnico de Leiria. Tem como
objetivo descrever e fazer uma reflexão crítica de forma integrativa, em relação ao
desenvolvimento das competências em Enfermagem médico-cirúrgica na área da
enfermagem à Pessoa em Situação Crítica. Estabelece uma relação entre os 3 estágios
realizados, face à competência em causa e sobre as competências desenvolvidas em contexto
de prática clínica, salientando as aprendizagens de elevada complexidade desenvolvidas.
Permite fazer uma reflexão na ação, para a ação e sobre a ação, evidenciando a teoria aplicada
na prática e avaliação do percurso efetuado.
A componente de investigação-Parte II- consiste num estudo quantitativo, descritivo, aplicado
a 2 equipas de enfermagem de ortopedia, de um hospital de uma Unidade Local de Saúde da
Região Centro para determinar as caraterísticas da amostra quanto às variáveis
sociodemográficas, académicas, profissionais e de formação, avaliar a autoperceção dos
enfermeiros quanto à frequência da realização de intervenções de prevenção de Infeção do
Local Cirúrgico; avaliar os conhecimentos dos enfermeiros sobre as intervenções de prevenção
de Infeção do Local Cirúrgico e conhecer as sugestões dos enfermeiros, quanto às estratégias a
adotar para melhorar os cuidados prestados na Prevenção de Infeção do Local Cirúrgico.
Os resultados obtidos irão ser importantes para a realização de um Projeto de Melhoria
Contínua para os referidos serviços.
This report on Internship in the professional context - Part I - arose within the scope of the Master’s Degree Course in Medical-Surgical Nursing in the area of specialization for the Critically Ill Person, taught at the School of Health, Polytechnic Institute of Leiria. It aims to describe and make a critical reflection in an integrative way, in relation to the development of competencies in medical-surgical nursing in the area of nursing for the Person in Critical Situation. It establishes a relationship between the 3 internships carried out, in view of the competence in question and on the skills developed in the context of clinical practice, highlighting the highly complex learning developed. It allows a reflection on action, for action and on action, evidencing the theory applied in practice and evaluation of the path taken. The research component - Part II - consists of a quantitative, descriptive study, applied to 2 orthopedic nursing teams of a hospital of a Local Health Unit in the Central Region to determine the characteristics of the sample regarding sociodemographic, academic, professional and training variables, to evaluate the self-perception of nurses regarding the frequency of interventions to prevent Surgical Site Infection; to evaluate nurses' knowledge about interventions to prevent Surgical Site Infection and to know nurses' suggestions regarding the strategies to be adopted to improve the care provided in Surgical Site Infection Prevention. The results obtained will be important for the realization of a Continuous Improvement Project for these services.
