Esta investigação explora a plasticidade da água nas suas dimensões visual e sonora, averiguando o seu papel na criação de ambientes envolventes que sugerem uma sensação de mergulho e imersão. A pesquisa utiliza a água como meio interativo e sensível, capaz de estabelecer um diálogo com o ser humano. Este projeto de tese propõe a hipótese, apresentada e desenvolvida pela prática artística instalativa, de que água é dotada de uma plasticidade específica que a torna um meio comunicativo. Inspirando-se nas reflexões filosóficas de Gaston Bachelard, tratar-se-á de evidenciar a água como um elemento que molda a imaginação, evoca emoções, produz diferentes sensações e afeções no espectador. Esta perspetiva sustenta a análise da água enquanto agente que participa ativamente na experiência estética e abre espaço para a criação artística.
This research explores the plasticity of water in its visual and sonic dimensions, examining its role in the creation of environments that evoke a sense of immersion. The study approaches water as a sensitive and interactive medium, capable of establishing a dialogue with the human being. The thesis project develops the hypothesis, presented and developed through installation art practice, that water processes a specific plasticity that makes it a communicative medium. Drawing on the philosophical reflections of Gaston Bachelard, this project seeks to highlight water as an element that shapes imagination, evokes emotions, and produces sensations and affections in the spectator. This perspective underpins the analysis of water as an active agent in aesthetic experience and as a medium that opens possibilities for artistic practices.
