A disparidade de acesso, oportunidades, poderes e recursos entre homens e mulheres, consolidada ao longo dos séculos, moldou a sociedade normalizando uma falsa sensação de igualdade de género, que de facto não se concretiza em termos de direitos e oportunidades. Ao longo da História, a mulher viveu opressões impostas por esta desigualdade, que permanece até hoje, em formas subtis de violência estrutural. Este projeto pretende promover a igualdade de género através do design, afastando o corpo feminino de uma perceção associada à sexualização e objetificação, e procurando uma visão mais neutra e funcional do corpo. Ao longo do processo de trabalho foram analisados objetos que relacionam o design com a luta pela igualdade de género em diferentes momentos históricos. A partir destes exemplos, e de momentos de partilha e reflexão com outras mulheres, procurou-se compreender como desenhar objetos emancipatórios. O projeto resultou na criação de seis vestidos que convidam à reinterpretação do corpo, como forma de combater estereótipos femininos. A partir de vestidos orientados para ações como caminhar, sentar no chão ou dançar, põe-se em
evidência o papel do corpo na emancipação das mulheres. Criando vestidos femininos, feministas e emancipatórios. Os resultados obtidos permitem concluir que é possível
combater a desigualdade de género a partir do design, salientando a importância da comunidade de mulheres neste processo. Reforça a importância do corpo feminino enquanto agente de ação que convida à liberdade, à descoberta do corpo e à autodeterminação.
The disparity in access, opportunities, power and resources between men and women, consolidated through centuries, has shaped society, normalising a fake sensation of gender equality, which in fact doesn’t work in terms of equality of rights or opportunities.Throughout history, women have lived oppressions imposed by this inequality, which remain until our days, in subtle forms of structural violence. This project intends to promote an equality of gender through design building a distance from the feminine body and a sexualised and objectifying perception of it. Looking for a more neutral and funcional vision of the body. Through this working process objects that relate the struggles for gender equality with design were analysed through different history’s lenses. From these examples and moments of reflection with other women, it thought to understand how to design emancipatory objects. The project resultes in the design of 6 dress that invite to a reinterpretation of the body, as a way to fight femininity stereotypes. From dresses oriented to action such as: walking, sitting on the floor or dancing, it’s put in evidence the role of the body in the emancipation of women. Creating emancipatory, feminine and feminist dresses. The results allow to conclude that it possible to fight gender inequality through design, highlighting the importance of women communities in this process. It reenforces the importance of the feminine body as an agent of action that invites to freedom, discovery and autodetermination.
