O presente documento foi elaborado no âmbito do Mestrado em Ensino do 1.º Ciclo do Ensino Básico e de Português, História e Geografia de Portugal no 2.º Ciclo do Ensino Básico e organiza-se em dois capítulos complementares elucidativos do processo pedagógico característico deste ciclo de estudos: a dimensão reflexiva e a dimensão investigativa.
A dimensão reflexiva incide na análise crítica das práticas pedagógicas desenvolvidas no 1.º e 2.º CEB, evidenciando metodologias utilizadas, desafios sentidos e decisões assumidas e promovendo a articulação das experiências vivenciadas com a devida fundamentação teórica.
A dimensão investigativa, por sua vez, centra-se na apresentação de um estudo de caso de carácter misto, realizado numa turma do 3.º ano, procurando analisar como a implementação de uma sequência didática baseada na exploração da obra Carta aos Líderes do Mundo, de Maria Inês Almeida e Flávia Lins e Silva, contribui para o desenvolvimento de competências de cidadania preconizadas nas Aprendizagens Essenciais.
Com base na análise de dados realizada, constatou-se que a implementação da sequência didática referida potenciou o desenvolvimento de competências de cidadania, consciência social e participação cívica dos alunos em dimensões observáveis.
This document was prepared as part of the Master’s Degree in Teaching for the 1st Cycle of Basic Education and in Portuguese, History, and Geography of Portugal for the 2nd Cycle of Basic Education. It is organized into two complementary chapters that reflect the pedagogical process characteristic of this program: the reflective dimension and the investigative dimension. The reflective dimension focuses on the critical analysis of pedagogical practices developed in the 1st and 2nd Cycles of Basic Education, highlighting the methodologies used, the challenges encountered, and the decisions made, while promoting the articulation of lived experiences with appropriate theoretical grounding. The investigative dimension, in turn, centers on the presentation of a mixed-methods case study conducted in a 3rd grade class, aiming to analyze how the implementation of a didactic sequence based on the exploration of the book Letter to the World Leaders, by Maria Inês Almeida and Flávia Lins e Silva, contributes to the development of citizenship competencies as outlined in the Essential Learnings. Based on the data analysis, it was found that the implementation of the didactic sequence fostered the development of students’ citizenship skills, social awareness, and civic participation across observable dimensions.
