| dc.description.abstract | Experiencing places associated with death is not a recent phenomenon. For a long time, people have been attracted to sites, attractions or events that somehow are associated with death or disaster. War related sites possibly constitute one of the largest categories of tourist attractions worldwide. This study raises the question of whether Dark Tourism is only of interest to a niche of tourists or if there is the desire and motivation in each of us to have a dark experience. One can conclude that, consciously or unconsciously, man in general is attracted to practice this type of tourism, and frequently not even the tourist realizes that his motivations are linked to the proximity of death and disaster. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | A vivência de locais associados à morte não é um fenómeno recente. Há muito tempo que as pessoas são atraídas para locais, atrações ou eventos que de alguma forma estão associadas à morte ou ao desastre. Os locais relacionados com guerra constituem possivelmente uma das mais amplas categorias de atrações turísticas a nível mundial. Este estudo levanta a questão se o Dark Tourism é apenas do interesse de um nicho de turistas ou se, em cada um de nós existe o desejo e a motivação de vivenciar uma experiência negra. Posto isto, conclui-se que, consciente ou inconscientemente, o Homem na sua maioria é atraído para a prática desta tipologia de turismo, sendo que muitas vezes nem o próprio turista se apercebe que as suas motivações estão ligadas à proximidade com a morte e o desastre. | pt_PT |
