Os Cuidados Paliativos são uma abordagem abrangente e holística, com o principal objetivo de prevenir e aliviar o sofrimento, promovendo a qualidade de vida aos doentes e às suas famílias.
O presente Relatório de Estágio foi desenvolvido seguindo uma metodologia descritiva, reflexiva e crítica, suportada por evidência científica, descrevendo, o percurso realizado ao longo do percurso formativo realizado, como requisito para a, obtenção do grau de mestre em Cuidados Paliativos, no âmbito do 1.º Mestrado em Cuidados Paliativos da Escola Superior de Saúde de Leiria do Instituto Politécnico Leiria.
O documento encontra-se dividido em três partes. Na Parte I, são abordados temas fundamentais sobre Cuidados Paliativos, e a caracterização dos locais de estágio. A Parte II integra a análise crítica das competências desenvolvidas ao longo dos estágios, com base nas competências que os profissionais de saúde que prestam Cuidados Paliativos devem possuir, em consonância com a European Association for Palliative Care. Na Parte III, é apresentado o projeto de investigação desenvolvido, uma Scoping Review sob o tema: A Reabilitação em Cuidados Paliativos de pessoas com diagnóstico de Paralisia Cerebral. Utilizando a metodologia proposta pelo Joanna Brigs Institute, o objetivo é mapear e identificar as intervenções não farmacológicas de reabilitação em pessoas com Paralisia Cerebral nos Cuidados Paliativos, a saber: (1) musicoterapia; (2) acupuntura; (3) fisioterapia; (4) terapia da fala e (5) ludoterapia, com benefícios na carga de sintomas e alívio do sofrimento e na qualidade de vida, bem como das suas famílias, onde o contexto domiciliário de reabilitação parece aquele mais favorável, a todos os intervenientes.
Apesar das recomendações internacionais, sugerirem a incorporação da reabilitação nos Cuidados Paliativos, a revisão identificou lacunas na literatura que interliga o tema, especialmente no que diz respeito à população adulta e à transição de cuidados entre a infância e a idade adulta. Não se encontrou referência, nos CP, ao uso de intervenções não farmacológicas habitualmente usadas na reabilitação da PC, como a Terapia Ocupacional ou a Hidroterapia nem, se conheceram estudos que indicassem, o uso de tecnologias de apoio, amplamente usadas em pessoas com este diagnóstico. Os resultados, reforçam ser importante desenvolver estudos primários sobre tema, no sentido de aprofundar o conhecimento sobre as intervenções não farmacológicas de reabilitação em Cuidados Paliativos para pessoas com diagnóstico de Paralisia Cerebral, e assim preparar profissionais para atuar em conformidade.
O relatório reflete a aprendizagem e as competências adquiridas ao longo do processo formativo, a investigação crucial à aprendizagem, espera-se que venha trazer à luz maior conhecimento, na interface que liga, a Reabilitação e Cuidados Paliativos, sobretudo em trajetórias longas e possíveis na Paralisia Cerebral.
Palliative Care is a comprehensive and holistic approach, with the main objective of preventing and relieving suffering, promoting the quality of life for patients and their families. This Internship Report was developed following a descriptive, reflective, and critical methodology, supported by scientific evidence. It describes the path taken throughout the training process, as a requirement for obtaining a master's degree in Palliative Care, within the scope of the 1st Master's in Palliative Care at the Escola Superior de Saúde of the Instituto Politécnico de Leiria. The document is divided into three parts. In Parte I, fundamental topics on Palliative Care and the characterization of the internship sites. Part II includes a critical analysis of the competences developed during the internships, based on the competencies that health professionals providing Palliative Care should possess, in accordance with the European Association for Palliative Care. Part III presents the research project., a Scoping Review on the theme: Rehabilitation in Palliative Care for people diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy. Using the methodology proposed by the Joanna Briggs Institute, the objective is to map and identify non-pharmacological rehabilitation interventions in people with Cerebral Palsy in Palliative, namely: (1) music therapy; (2) acupuncture; (3) physiotherapy; (4) play therapy; and (5) speech therapy, with evident benefits at the physical, psychological, and social levels, thus improving their quality of life and relieving their suffering. Despite international recommendations suggest the incorporation of rehabilitation in Palliative Care, the review identified gaps in the literature on the subject, especially with regard the adult population. These results reinforce the importance of developing primary studies in this area to deepen the knowledge about rehabilitation interventions in Palliative Care, particularly for people diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy, and thus prepare professionals to act accordingly. The report reflects the learning and skills acquired throughout the training process, highlighting the importance that research should increasingly give to the gap in knowledge relating Rehabilitation and Palliative Care, especially when associated with long life trajectories combined with diagnoses such as Cerebral Palsy.
