The injection moulding has seen a gradual growth since its introduction in the mid 20th century in order to fabricate different plastic parts for all industries including construction, electronic, medical, aerospace, automotive, food and beverage and so on. Because of its adaptability, injection moulding process has been one of the most important manufacturing processes without which the world was not able to achieve such a progress and comfort in daily life. Advances in resins and polymers have improved the design flexibility, strength and finishing of the manufactured parts thereby reducing production time, weight, cost and waste. Although, to make use of the trending technology and to reduce the material consumption, increase productivity and improve automation, the hot runner technology was invented in the 1930s. Hot runner technology has been a solution to many problems in moulding industry involving plastic injection products like automobile bumpers, television covers, bottle caps, cosmetic containers and so on. This document focuses mainly on various approaches and innovations in the field of hot runner systems and solutions to the various problems faced in the traditional injection moulding processes.pt_PT
