Abstract(s)

This paper presents an impact study of the incorporation of station charging for electrical vehicle level 2 on the network. A charging station with these characteristics was modeled and integrated into a sector of the electric power distribution system corresponding to the historic center of Cuenca. For simulation purposes, Psim® simulation software was used. Several charging scenarios are presented and power quality related to harmonic distortion is assessed. The analysis shows that, from the point of view of power quality, in the worst case, the voltage harmonic distortion is lower than 1.36%. From the point of view of energy capacity, it is demonstrated that in some cases the re-dimensioning of the distribution system is necessary because the capacity of the system could not withstand these new burdens.
