Chlorpyrifos is a broad-spectrum organophosphorus pesticide used for aerial and ground-based treatments with different permeation values being reported for human skin. Despite the recommendations of the organisation for economic co-operation and development (OECD) to use 50% of ethanol in the receptor fluid for skin permeation of lipophilic compounds (as chlorpyrifos), this condition was suggested to exaggerate its permeation.
