da Silva de Ávila, Pedro Gil Frade Morouço, and César Augusto
Castro. The work constitutes an invaluable contribution to all those
interested in the history of education in Portugal and Brazil. With
an emphasis on preserving the teaching memory, through the
publication of documents stored by teachers whose professional
lives were entirely dedicated to school education, the organizers
now publish the second volume of the collection “Teaching Memory:
Brazil and Portugal,” through which they share with the reading
public memories about training, career, and biographical data of
Professor Maria José Caetano Reis Alves.
