With this study, it is possible to understand the effects caused by wooden barriers in order to achieve a better shielding effectiveness (SE) or electromagnetic transparency at selected frequencies to control the exposure of electromagnetic radiation on the population and to reduce co-channel interference in telecommunications. The spacing between wooden poles' centre is parametrised within a simulation environment in the frequency range of 1.5 to 6 GHz and the results provided by the simulation software are assessed against measurement results of a real site barrier prototype. Simulation and measurement results presents a good agreement, where the pole's spacing affects SE significantly. As a replacement to current barriers, mainly on motorways, a low industrial processing and low-cost wooden barrier with specified electromagnetic characteristics may be used.engWooden barrierelectromagnetic shieldingTimber Log Based Barrier for Electromagnetic Site Shieldingconference paper10.1109/conftele50222.2021.9435463
